Preparing to Know the Lord
The things that are happening in the world today are events that were prophesied. The scriptures - particularly Isaiah - warned us of this time. And the reactions of the people vary from "I can't wait for things to get back to normal" to "There is nothing happening" (in other words, they bask in their blissful ignorance and deny everything) to "I can't wait for the Savior's return so He can end all this" to "He is delaying His coming." It seems that most cannot see this time for what it is. They refuse to acknowledge the fast-mounting tribulation. This tribulation is chaotic, coming at us from every direction imaginable.
But did you ever stop to think that God is blessing each of us with the opportunity to get our spiritual ducks in a row?
This is a time of preparation, and I mean spiritual, because the time of temporal preparation has all but passed. Even still, all the emergency preps in the world aren't worth much if we are not using this time to come to know the Lord as He knows us individually. We speak of becoming a unified people, but how can we achieve this without first being unified with Christ? He should be the First and Last, the Beginning and Ending in our lives. Our entire being should be fixed and focused solely on Him.
We are warned to have no other gods but THE GOD. Yet our lives are filled with other gods that we place before Him: money, degrees, expensive cars, big homes, celebrities, the accolades of men, wearing costly apparel, and propping up those in the chief seats. And we still build up the high places (making ungodly sacrifices of all kinds) and stand on our personal rameumptom, speaking vain words to be heard of men while our hearts are far from God.
This is the time to prepare ourselves to meet God, to ponder, pray, and cry to our Lord to part the veil of heaven that we may know Him and truly have His spirit to be with us. Nothing - absolutely nothing- should get in the way of that. It needs to be our absolute goal, because only He can get us through the tumultuous trials to come. ONLY HE CAN!
I pray that we will let go of all ungodliness and anything that stands between us and our Savior.
He truly is the only WAY. And He is always willing to meet us where we are, no matter where that is, as long as we stay open to Him and let Him into our hearts.
Have a great weekend!
